Fiji Trade Information Portal Launched in Suva

The Ministry of Trade, Co-operatives, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Communications yesterday launched the Fiji Trade Information Portal (TIP), a major national initiative aimed at enhancing trade transparency and streamlining access to trade-related information.
The new digital platform — now live at www.fijitradeportal.gov.fj — brings together all relevant procedures, requirements, and regulations for import, export, and transit activities, providing traders, particularly MSMEs, with clear and reliable information at no cost.
Permanent Secretary for Trade, Co-operatives, MSMEs and Communications, Mr. Shaheen Ali, said the portal marks a turning point in simplifying how trade is conducted in Fiji.
“For too long, our traders, especially MSMEs, have spent too much time chasing approvals and trying to understand complex rules. The TIP changes that—it puts clear, verified trade information at your fingertips, free of charge,” he said.
The launch of the portal supports Fiji’s broader goal of making trade more inclusive and predictable, while reducing red tape and encouraging private sector growth.
