Fiji is hosting the President of the Republic of Kiribati, His Excellency Taneti Maamau, for a State Visit from Monday, January 27, to Thursday, January 30, 2025.
This visit highlights the close ties between the two Pacific nations, celebrated under the spirit of Pacific Vuvale (family).
President Maamau arrived in Fiji today and will be honored with full state protocols throughout his stay.
His first engagement will include a traditional Fijian welcome ceremony, followed by a meeting with Fiji's President, His Excellency Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu.
Later in the visit, President Maamau will hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka.
The discussions will focus on strengthening cooperation between the two nations and addressing shared challenges affecting the Pacific region.
This visit follows Prime Minister Rabuka’s trip to Kiribati in 2023, which played a key role in rebuilding unity and solidarity within the Pacific Islands Forum family.
The State Visit is expected to further deepen the friendship and collaboration between Fiji and Kiribati while promoting regional partnerships to address global challenges.
