The Fijian Drua rugby team has announced a new partnership with Fiji National University (FNU), making FNU the official catering supplier for the club.

As the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua Men and Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women prepare for the 2025 seasons of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific and Buildcorp Super Rugby Women, FNU will provide meals and snacks tailored to the athletes' high-performance needs.

The catering will come from FNU’s College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies, specifically its School of Hospitality and Tourism.

Baden Stephenson, the Fijian Drua General Manager for Rugby, expressed excitement about the collaboration, noting that FNU is well-equipped to meet their specific catering requirements for quality, nutrition, and flavor.

This partnership not only supports the Drua but also helps FNU earn revenue while giving its students hands-on experience in catering for professional athletes.

Students will prepare and present meals under the guidance of experienced chefs.

Stephenson highlighted that the athletes will receive excellent nutrition at the FNU Namaka Campus, benefiting from the expertise of culinary professionals and the training of talented students.

FNU Vice-Chancellor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba shared her enthusiasm about this being the first initiative of its kind, ensuring players receive the right meals at the correct times and portions.

She added that this opportunity will help students apply their academic learning in a practical setting, enhancing their skills and knowledge.

The catering services have already begun for the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua Men as they start their pre-season training.
