Fijian Teachers Association Calls for Removal of No Repeat Policy

The General Secretary of the Fijian Teachers Association, Paula Manumanunitoga, is calling for the removal of the "No Repeat Policy" in schools.
This policy, which prevents students from repeating a school year even if they have not performed well, has been in place for some time.
However, Manumanunitoga believes it is having a negative impact on student performance. According to him, the policy has led to many students passing their grades without having fully understood the material, which has resulted in poor academic performance and worrying pass rates in schools across Fiji.
Manumanunitoga suggests that allowing students to repeat a year could help them improve their understanding of key subjects and perform better in their exams. He argues that the current system is not benefiting students in the long run.
