FijiansFirst Allegedly Leaves Behind Its Own Members
FIJI NEWS

Just days after the proposed FijiansFirst Party submitted its registration application, things are already falling apart, with key figures reportedly resigning after being left out of the registration process.
A source within the party, who wished to remain anonymous, told Duavata News that those involved in the groundwork felt sidelined during the registration process, particularly after MP Ketan Lal and General Secretary Ravindran Kumaran appeared at the FEO for what was described as a photo opportunity, positioning themselves as the face of the party while those responsible for the signature collection and registration completely ignored.
For a movement aspiring to challenge the elections and lead the nation, it raises serious questions if it cannot even make its own members feel included and valued.
The situation has drawn reaction online, with some expressing dissatisfaction over how recognition has been unjustly distributed within the party.
A youth member from another political group, Gaunavinaka Joshua, also weighed in, criticising what he described as a lack of acknowledgement for volunteers who “climbed mountains, crossed rivers, and walked miles” to gather signatures.
He further questioned why those involved in the groundwork were not recognised, suggesting that credit had instead gone to those who appeared at the final stage of the process to take credit.
In contrast, observers have pointed to other recent party registrations, including that of the New Generation Alliance, where a broader and more inclusive team was present during the submission process.
Further resignations are expected in the coming days.
Duavata News has sent questions to the party’s founding member and General Secretary, Ravindran Kumaran, seeking clarification on the reported resignations and concerns being raised.
At the time of publication, no response had been received.
