The Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) has announced the implementation of standard headstones across all public burial grounds in Fiji.

This decision follows a comprehensive assessment of available land and existing headstone designs.

Effective immediately, only standard headstones will be permitted at public cemeteries.

The design specifications and detailed plans for these headstones can be obtained from the Cemetery Office in Korovou.

Families intending to place a tombstone for their deceased loved ones must adhere to these new guidelines.

The FCS emphasizes that alternative headstone designs will no longer be accepted.

This measure aims to ensure uniformity, enhance the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of burial grounds, and optimize the use of limited land resources in public cemeteries.
