Fiji’s President Meets Israeli Ambassador to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

The President of Fiji, His Excellency Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, welcomed Israel’s non-resident Ambassador to Fiji and the Pacific, His Excellency Roi Rosenbilt, at State House yesterday during a courtesy visit.
Ambassador Rosenbilt, currently on a two-day visit to Fiji, met with President Ratu Naiqama to reaffirm the longstanding friendship between the two nations, which dates back to 1970.
The President expressed gratitude for Israel’s ongoing support in areas such as security, peacekeeping, agriculture, and climate change.
He also highlighted Israel’s contributions to Fiji through groundbreaking technologies in water management, sustainable agriculture, and renewable energy solutions.
Climate change, a pressing concern for Pacific Island nations, remains a key area of cooperation between the two countries.
In a significant diplomatic development, President Ratu Naiqama acknowledged Fiji’s recent decision to open an embassy in Jerusalem, marking a new chapter in Fiji-Israel relations and reinforcing Fiji’s commitment to deeper engagement.
