Operations at Nadi International Airport were disrupted yesterday afternoon after Air Traffic Control, acting on behalf of Fiji Airports Limited, suspended ramp activities due to warnings of dangerous weather from the Fiji Meteorology Service.

The decision caused major delays for airlines, including Fiji Airways, which had to cancel its evening flight to Sydney.

According to Fiji Airways, flights to and from Nadi experienced delays of up to four hours, with some planes unable to reach the terminal for passengers to disembark because departure gates were occupied.

Fiji Airways has rescheduled the canceled Sydney flight, with a supplementary service set to operate this morning.

Additionally, Fiji Link had to cancel two return flights between Nadi and Suva.

Passengers are advised to check for updates as airlines work to address the disruptions caused by the weather.
