The Flying Fijians are on track to defend their Pacific Nations Cup title after a commanding 22-3 victory over the USA in the semi-final held in Tokyo. Coached by Mick Byrne, Fiji will face the winner of the Japan vs. Samoa semi-final in the final match in Osaka on Sunday.

Byrne stated that the job isn’t finished yet, stating, “We will review our mistakes and prepare thoroughly for the final.” He praised his team’s effort, particularly Caleb Muntz, who took over as captain after Tevita Ikanivere’s yellow card, and the rookie fullback Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula.

Despite some handling errors and early struggles from Ikanivere, Fiji’s strong defense and dominance in the scrums proved decisive. Byrne highlighted the significant contributions from players like Elia Canakaivata.

The Flying Fijians are now focused on their final challenge, aiming to secure their second consecutive Pacific Nations Cup title
