FNU Law Lecturer Faces Allegations of Bullying
FIJI NEWS

Fiji National University (FNU) is currently facing controversy as a law lecturer has been accused of bullying and verbally harassing students.
Law students have reported that they raised concerns about the lecturer’s behavior since the start of the semester, but claim the university has not taken any action.
Multiple complaints have been submitted to university officials, including the head of the law school, Ana Rokomokoti, the FNU registrar, the human resources department, and Vice-Chancellor Professor Unaisi Baba.
Students say the lecturer’s bullying has mostly targeted female students.
One parent, who asked to remain anonymous, is seeking legal advice after their daughter became depressed and reluctant to attend classes.
The parent described an incident where the lecturer publicly questioned their daughter's ability and who pays for her education in a hurtful manner.
The parent stated, "It’s none of his business who pays anyone’s fees.
He should focus on teaching and supporting students instead."
In response to these allegations, FNU emphasized its commitment to providing a fair process for students to address their concerns.
The university stated, "We understand that issues may arise in the academic environment, and we have clear policies in place to address grievances appropriately.
Our internal processes ensure that all parties have a fair chance to present their case.
Most complaints submitted through proper channels have been resolved."
