One of the pioneers of women's rugby in Fiji, Laijipa Naulivou, has been appointed as the new Rugby Director for the Fiji Rugby Union (FRU).

She takes over from Conway Beg, who resigned two weeks ago.

Naulivou's appointment was announced by FRU board chairman John Sanday, who expressed his confidence in her abilities and welcomed her to the role.

Naulivou, the first Fijiana captain, was nominated by the Nasinu Rugby Union during FRU’s Annual General Meeting last November.

Sanday also confirmed the appointment of Etu Tuqota as FRU board secretary.
