Four Charged Over Alleged Kidnapping

Four people, including a 25-year-old woman, have been charged in connection with the alleged kidnapping of a 20-year-old woman in Saweni, Lautoka.
Police say the incident occurred on the morning of 25 February 2026, when the accused allegedly forcefully removed the victim from her home following an argument.
According to investigators, the 25-year-old woman allegedly forced the victim into her car while three men — aged 44, 28 and 24 — allegedly assaulted a relative who attempted to intervene.
The victim reportedly jumped out of the moving vehicle during the incident and sustained injuries.
The 25-year-old woman has been charged with one count of kidnapping, one count of damaging property, and one count of an act with intent to cause grievous harm.
Her three alleged accomplices have each been charged with one count of kidnapping, assault causing actual bodily harm, and criminal intimidation.
All four accused, who are residents of Saweni, are expected to appear at the Lautoka Magistrates Court on Monday, 2 March 2026.
