Hundreds of residents from Navua, Pacific Harbour, and Galoa received free medical services during a successful outreach medical camp hosted at Lomary Secondary School over the weekend.

The initiative, spearheaded by Sai Prema Foundation Fiji, brought together a dedicated team of doctors, healthcare professionals, and volunteers—including staff from the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital—to offer a range of medical services at no cost to patients.

The camp provided general medical consultations led by senior physicians, general practitioners, and medical officers from the Ministry of Health.

Dental services were conducted by dentists from Navua Hospital, while health screenings were carried out by teams from Diabetes Fiji, WOWS Kids Fiji, the Fiji Cancer Society, and nurses from the CWM Hospital Eye Department.

Specialised care included eye screenings and heart checks for children, conducted by the Sanjeevani team.

Free glasses were distributed, and obstetrics and gynaecology consultations were also made available to address women’s health needs.

Patients received essential medications on-site, thanks to the work of volunteer pharmacists, ensuring that treatment could begin immediately.

Diabetes Fiji also led advocacy and counselling sessions aimed at the early detection and management of diabetes.

The camp also catered to the needs of its volunteers. Through the Foundation’s Sai Annapoorna initiative, a generous meal was provided, supported by Renu Singh of Make a Difference Fiji.

The Foundation described the initiative as a demonstration of “love in action,” reflecting its mission to “serve the underserved, reach the unreached, and do the undone.”
