Fuel and LPG Prices Drop Across Fiji for May 2025
FIJI NEWS

The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) has announced a drop in the prices of fuel and LPG products effective from Thursday, 1 May 2025.
The reduction follows the one-month lag pricing system and is based on March 2025 imports. Lower international refined fuel and butane prices, a weaker US dollar, and changes in freight costs contributed to the decrease.
Despite higher freight rates, the stronger Fijian dollar and falling global fuel prices helped ease local costs.
Crude oil prices also declined by nearly 5% in March due to global trade tensions, increased US crude stocks, and shifting market sentiment.
Meanwhile, LPG prices dropped due to reduced Butane Contract Prices, lower freight charges, and weaker demand in Asia.
FCCC urges consumers to report any overcharging or unfair practices, as traders are not allowed to exceed the regulated maximum prices.
