The Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre (FWCC) has called for an investigation into the Nadi Police’s handling of a case where a man killed his wife and then himself last Friday.

FWCC claims the man was arrested last Wednesday for criminal intimidation but was released on Thursday afternoon.

They allege this decision led to the murder and have criticized the Police for failing to act effectively in domestic violence cases.

The organization has urged systemic reforms and better training for officers, emphasizing the need for urgent and efficient responses to domestic violence.
