Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has announced new international partnerships aimed at strengthening Fiji’s healthcare system.

In a public statement, the Prime Minister highlighted key developments including Fiji’s first agreement with the Indian Pharmacopeia, allowing access to more affordable and safe medicine.

Preparations are also underway for a 100-bed super-specialty hospital, gifted by the Indian Government, and a procurement agreement for lower-cost generic drugs from India.

Additionally, a new National Rehabilitation Hospital will be constructed in Tamavua over the next three years, supported by the South Korean Government and KOICA.

“These projects are only possible through stable and transparent leadership. When there is trust, our global partners are willing to invest in our people,” said Mr Rabuka.

He thanked the Governments of India and South Korea for their friendship and commitment to building a healthier Fiji.
