The Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management has successfully completed the upgrade of government quarters for District Officers (DOs) stationed in Nadarivatu, one of the most remote and geographically challenging regions in the country.
The newly refurbished quarters are part of a broader initiative by the Coalition Government to improve working and living conditions for civil servants operating in isolated areas.
With an investment of approximately $0.5 million, the upgrade aims to enhance the welfare of officers who play a vital role in delivering government services and coordinating disaster response efforts in rural communities.
“The upgraded residence will not only improve the living standards for our officers but also support them in effectively delivering essential government services to their communities,” the Ministry said in a statement.
The Nadarivatu upgrade is part of a larger program that also includes planned improvements for quarters in Rotuma, and ongoing collaborations with contractors in the Northern and Eastern Divisions.
