Gun and Ammunition Seized in Viti Levu Waters

A joint operation by the Fiji Police Force, Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS), and the Fiji Navy led to the interception of a vessel in Viti Levu waters, uncovering one gun and 600 rounds of ammunition.
Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu confirmed the launch of a major investigation into the discovery and stated that further details would be released as the probe continues.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka praised the efforts of FRCS and Police, highlighting the importance of vigilance in border security.
He stressed that law enforcement must stay alert to prevent illegal activities, including weapons and drug smuggling.
Authorities are continuing investigations to determine the origin and intended use of the seized firearm and ammunition.
