FIJI NEWS

A heavy rain alert is in place for the Northern Division, Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, and parts of Viti Levu, including areas from Momi to Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua, and Rakiraki.
The alert also covers the interior of Ba, Ra, Nadroga/Navosa, Serua/Namosi, Naitasiri, and Tailevu provinces.
The alert has now been extended to include the rest of Viti Levu.
The Fiji Meteorological Service reports that a trough of low pressure, along with clouds and rain, is affecting the western and northern parts of the country.
This weather system is expected to spread across the rest of Fiji by tomorrow.
Currently, a north to easterly wind flow is influencing weather conditions across the islands.
Residents in affected areas are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions, especially in flood-prone regions.
