Heavy rain has flooded the tents where thousands of displaced Palestinians are living in Gaza, adding to the struggles of the 2.3 million people who have been facing nonstop Israeli attacks since October.

Families were forced to flee their tents in the middle of the night as rainwater poured in, ruining their belongings.

Rami, a 37-year-old father staying at a former football stadium, described the terrifying experience.

“We ran in the middle of the night. The rain flooded the tent, ruined our food, and the kids were screaming. I’m afraid they’ll get sick,” he said.

The Palestinian Civil Defence said the flooding has affected thousands of people.

Spokesman Mahmoud Basal explained that the rain soaked mattresses and damaged luggage, leaving people in urgent need of help.

“This situation is a real disaster if we don’t get immediate support,” Basal warned.

The Civil Defence has called on aid groups to provide stronger shelters, such as new tents or caravans, to protect families from the harsh weather.

The rain has made an already difficult situation much worse for displaced families in Gaza, who are struggling to survive with limited resources and worsening living conditions. Aid is urgently needed to prevent further suffering.
