Ifereimi Rawaqa, a former player for the Fiji Water Flying Fijians and current Skills and Development Coach for the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua Men, has been appointed as the Interim Head Coach for the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women for the upcoming 2025 Buildcorp Super Rugby Women season.

Rawaqa replaces Mosese Rauluni, who stepped down from his role as Head Coach of both the Drua Women and Vodafone Fijiana 15s after the recent WXV competition in Dubai.

The Fijian Drua and Fiji Rugby Union made the appointment, with Drua CEO Mark Evans expressing gratitude for Rawaqa’s willingness to take on this important role.

Evans emphasized Rawaqa’s dedication to rugby in Fiji and believes the Drua Women will benefit from his leadership.

Rawaqa’s interim role will allow the Drua and Fiji Rugby Union time to find a permanent Head Coach through a thorough recruitment process.

Rawaqa expressed his honor in taking on this position and highlighted the importance of the upcoming season as a foundation for Fiji’s preparation for the 2025 Rugby World Cup.

One of his initial goals is to collaborate with the assistant coaches and the Fiji Rugby Union High-Performance Unit to strengthen the team’s depth.
