Braving the rain and muddy paths, parishioners of Immaculate Conception Parish, Lami, took part in a solemn Cross Walk from Qauia Village to Matanisivaro Settlement yesterday afternoon.

As part of their Lenten journey, participants stopped at 16 Stations of the Cross, pausing at the homes of community members in Qauia Village to reflect, pray, and commemorate Christ’s suffering.

Despite the challenging conditions, the faithful remained steadfast, embodying the message shared by Father Sanjey in one of his homilies: “The journey is never-ending. Continue to carry your cross in your heart every day until you die.”

After completing the Stations of the Cross, the group carried the cross deeper into the settlement, undeterred by the difficult terrain.

As they walked, young and old alike recited the rosary and sang hymns, demonstrating their unwavering faith and devotion.

The cross serves as a powerful reminder of Jesus’ love, His sacrifice for humanity, and His ultimate act of forgiveness.

Through this Cross Walk, parishioners reflected on the significance of Christ’s suffering and the call to carry their own crosses with faith and perseverance.

This Lenten journey continues to unite the parishioners in prayer and devotion, reinforcing the message of love, forgiveness, and unwavering faith in God’s plan.
