India’s High Commissioner to Fiji, His Excellency Suneet Mehta, paid a courtesy call on the Commissioner of the Fiji Police Force, Rusiate Tudravu, this morning (Wednesday 4 June 2025).

H.E. Mehta was accorded a quarter guard welcome ceremony, marking his first official visit to the Fiji Police Force. He held discussions with Commissioner Tudravu on various areas of police cooperation.

Commissioner Tudravu expressed the Fiji Police Force’s appreciation for the Indian Government’s continued support in police development, which over the years has included specialised training in senior leadership, database and web programming, global human resources management, financial management, and fingerprint analysis for forensic officers.

H.E. Mehta reaffirmed his Government’s commitment to supporting the Fiji Police Force and noted that the formalisation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) would further enhance shared security cooperation at both government and law enforcement levels.

Commissioner Tudravu noted that the Fiji Police Force is undergoing an organisational transformation aimed at rebuilding public trust and confidence. He said that partnerships with international law enforcement agencies contribute significantly to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of policing strategies.

Both parties agreed to explore further specialised areas of cooperation upon the formalisation of the MOU.
