Investigation Launched After Police Officer Allegedly Assaults Man in Nausori

The Acting Commissioner of Police, Juki Fong Chew, has ordered an investigation into an incident where a police officer is accused of assaulting a man in Nausori over the weekend.

The Acting Commissioner has instructed the Director of Internal Affairs to look into the allegations, assuring the public and the victim's family that a thorough investigation will take place.

Acting Commissioner Chew emphasized that all officers are regularly reminded to follow the law while carrying out their duties and that they are accountable to the law, just like everyone else.
