At least 12 Palestinians, mostly women and children, were killed in Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip.

The strikes hit various locations, including Jabaliya, Bureij refugee camp, and Khan Younis, as the conflict extends into the new year.

Gaza’s Health Ministry reported the casualties, while Israel's military claimed to have targeted Hamas fighters in response to rocket fire from Gaza.

The conflict, ongoing for nearly 15 months, has resulted in over 45,000 Palestinian deaths and widespread displacement.

Efforts to broker a ceasefire have repeatedly stalled, with Hamas demanding a lasting truce and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu vowing continued military action until "total victory."

The situation has caused severe humanitarian issues, with many Palestinians relying on charity kitchens and living in makeshift shelters amid winter conditions.
