The Kadavu Rugby Union (KRU) Executive Committee met with Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu yesterday in a move aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Fiji Police Force and the Union.

The meeting was described as a significant milestone, highlighting a shared commitment to youth development, community engagement and crime prevention through sport.

Commissioner Tudravu acknowledged the Kadavu Rugby Union for taking a proactive stance and officially pledged his support to the Union’s efforts.

He emphasised that the development of sports, particularly rugby, plays a critical role in guiding young people away from illegal activities and toward positive life paths.

“Our goal is to see the young people of Kadavu excelling on the rugby pitch and contributing meaningfully to their communities, rather than being lured into the cycle of illegal activities,” Commissioner Tudravu said.

He added that both the Kadavu Rugby Union and the Fiji Police Force are committed to ensuring a bright, resilient and drug-free future for Kadavu.
