Ketan Lal Calls for Sayed-Khaiyum’s Return as Attorney-General

Member of Parliament Ketan Lal has questioned what is stopping Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka from reappointing former Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum as Attorney-General.

“Love him or hate him, he was the most qualified, competent, and visionary A-G Fiji has ever had,” Mr Lal wrote.

“No one can deny that Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum understood the machinery of government better than most sitting ministers today. He didn’t just talk about reforms — he delivered them.”

Mr Lal added that if the government is serious about progress and merit-based appointments, it should consider bringing back individuals “who actually know how to get things done.”
