King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau'u of Tonga Arrive in Fiji

Their Majesties King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau'u of the Kingdom of Tonga arrived at Nausori Airport this morning to commence their official state visit to Fiji.
The royal couple was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Biman Prasad, Assistant Minister for iTaukei Affairs Hon. Ratu Isikeli Tuiwailevu, and Fiji’s Special Envoy to the Pacific, His Excellency William Toganivalu.
Following their arrival, Their Majesties proceeded to the State House, where they were received by Prime Minister Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka. His Majesty King Tupou VI inspected a 100-men guard of honour before a traditional ceremony of welcome was accorded to them.
During their visit, Their Majesties will also meet with the Head of State, His Excellency the President, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, and First Lady Madam Emily Lalabalavu.
A key part of their state visit includes attending the installation ceremony of the Turaga Tui Nayau, Sau ni Vanua ko Lau, and Tui Lau, Ratu Tevita Lutunauga Kapaiwai Uluilakeba Mara, on Thursday, 10 July 2025, in Lakeba, Lau.
