Land Transport Authority (LTA) CEO, Mr Irimaia Rokosawa, is urging people to be more careful on the roads after a serious accident on King’s Road in Vitogo, Lautoka, yesterday afternoon.

The crash involved a bus and a 4x4 vehicle, leaving 18 people injured and taken to Lautoka Hospital.

Rokosawa expressed concern over the incident, saying it highlights the ongoing issue of drivers not following safety rules.

He stressed that with the festive season approaching, it’s important for everyone to be extra cautious on the roads.

He also pointed out that, despite regular safety campaigns by the LTA, some drivers continue to take unnecessary risks, especially in bad weather conditions.

Rokosawa reminded drivers that Fiji’s cyclone season is coming, which will make road conditions even more dangerous.
