The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is urging road users to stay safe as heavy rainfall and flash floods affect many areas.
LTA CEO Irimaia Rokosawa warned of the dangers posed by flooded roads, reduced visibility, and reckless driving.
He advised drivers to avoid unnecessary travel, follow speed limits, use headlights, and maintain safe distances.
“If you encounter a flooded road, turn around and take an alternative route. It’s not worth risking lives,” Rokosawa said.
LTA is working with authorities to monitor road conditions and enforce safety measures. Several LTA branches are closed due to flooding.
Stay updated with weather warnings and road closures and prioritize safety during this challenging time.
