Man Charged for Alleged OTP Scam

A 39-year-old man has been charged by the Fiji Police Cyber Task Force for allegedly obtaining financial advantage through deception.

Police allege that on June 30, 2023, the accused tricked the victim into sharing a one-time password (OTP), leading to an unauthorized transfer of $112.31 from her account.

The funds were then allegedly funneled through multiple accounts before reaching the accused.

He is set to appear in the Labasa Magistrates Court today.
