Man Charged with Deception Over Fake Sales

A 27-year-old man from Moto, Ba, is set to appear in the Nadi Magistrates Court today.

He is accused of obtaining $1,400 through deception.

According to police, from July last year to September this year, the man allegedly created several fake Facebook accounts to sell items that did not exist.

He reportedly received the money through bank deposits and mobile money transfers.

The man faces six charges of obtaining money by deception and one charge of possessing property believed to be from criminal activity.
