Man Charged with Sacrilege Following Break-In at Nasinu Temple

Police have charged a man in his 30s in relation to an alleged case of sacrilege at the Gurdwara Guru Ravidass Temple in Nasinu.

The incident occurred on Saturday night, where it is alleged the suspect forcefully broke into the temple and stole a gas cylinder, burners, catering equipment, and other assorted items.

Following a report received over the weekend, the Valelevu Crime Operations team launched an investigation. Acting on gathered intelligence, officers arrested the suspect within the Valelevu area and successfully recovered the stolen items.

The accused has been charged with one count of sacrilege and is scheduled to appear at the Nasinu Magistrates Court today.
