Marata Village will soon expand its community hall, ensuring more residents have access to safe shelter during natural disasters, thanks to a Multi-Ethnic Grant from the Ministry of Multi-Ethnic Affairs and Sugar Industry.

With the village's population growing from 54 to 74 households, existing facilities have struggled to accommodate everyone, especially during emergencies. Village headman Sanidaoni Toroirauna said that in the past, space limitations forced community leaders to restrict access to the hall during evacuations.

"This grant was much needed and will help us a lot," Mr. Toroirauna said. "Our community hall is too small to fit everyone, but during natural disasters, it serves as our evacuation center. Now, we can ensure that no one is left without shelter. I thank the government for providing this support."
