The Marist Convent Primary School community gathered with pride and joy on December 3, 2024, to celebrate the graduation of the Year 8 students.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the students, signaling the end of their primary school journey and the beginning of new opportunities.

Held at the Novotel Convention Centre in Lami, the event was attended by parents, teachers, and distinguished guests, including Father Sikeli Tuilevuka, the parish priest of the Immaculate Conception Lami.

Together, they commemorated the hard work and dedication that had brought these students to this remarkable day.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was the announcement that the Year 8 students had topped the 2024 Year 8 External Examinations in Fiji. This extraordinary achievement was a testament to their academic diligence and perseverance, as well as the unwavering support they received from their teachers and families.

The students' success was celebrated with heartfelt applause from the audience, acknowledging their hard-earned victory.

Principal Mrs. Matakasa, in her speech, took a moment to reflect on the students' growth. She emphasized that while today marked the end of their primary school years, it also marked the beginning of a new journey. "This is not the end. This is simply the beginning of a new adventure," she remarked.

She encouraged the graduates to look back and appreciate how far they have come but also to keep moving forward with courage and determination.

"The path ahead will bring new opportunities and challenges. Continue to dream big, pursue your passions, and never stop learning," she urged.

In addition to Mrs. Matakasa's words of encouragement, Father Sikeli Tuilevuka shared his blessings with the graduates.

He acknowledged the significant role that parents and teachers had played in the students' success, thanking them for their constant support and encouragement.

Father Sikeli reminded the graduates that, while they were stepping into a new chapter, they were not alone. "Your parents, teachers, and faith will always guide you," he said. "May God continue to bless you as you embark on your journey."

The ceremony also included the presentation of certificates to the graduates, a moment of pride and joy for both the students and their families.

As each graduate received their certificate, they were recognized not only for their academic accomplishments but also for their personal growth in character and spirit during their time at Marist Convent.

The ceremony concluded with traditional performances from different classes, as students, parents, and teachers stood together in unity to mark this important occasion.

The atmosphere was filled with a sense of hope and excitement for the future, as the graduates prepared to take the next steps in their educational journey.

While this chapter has come to a close, the Marist Convent Year 8 class of 2024 leaves with the knowledge that they are ready for the challenges ahead.

Their time at Marist Convent has equipped them with the tools to succeed in the next phase of their lives. As they step into secondary school and beyond, they will carry with them the lessons of hard work, perseverance, and faith.

Congratulations to the Marist Convent Primary School Graduating Class of 2024!

May your future be as bright and promising as the path you have already paved.
