FIJI NEWS

In response to the looming weather threat posed by Tropical Depression TD09F, MH, MaxVal-u Supermart, and Homemaker have announced a temporary closure of their operations from 2 PM on Sunday, 23rd February 2025 as a safety precaution.
The company’s management stated that they will continue monitoring the situation and provide updates on reopening once conditions are deemed safe.
This decision follows guidance from the National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) as Fiji braces for the approaching storm system.
"Based on the weather forecast, we plan to reopen on Monday, but we will confirm once conditions are assessed," MH Management stated in their public notice.
The closure comes as authorities urge businesses and residents in affected areas, particularly in the Lau, Lomaiviti, and Vanua Levu regions, to take necessary precautions. The Ministry of Education has also announced the closure of schools in these regions for Monday, ensuring the safety of students and staff.
Customers are advised to stay updated through official announcements from the company and disaster management authorities.
The management has apologized for any inconvenience caused and assured customers that reopening will be prioritized once it is safe to do so.
As TD09F continues to intensify, authorities urge the public to remain vigilant, secure their properties, and stay informed through official weather updates.
