Minister Singh Meets Newly Registered Air Traffic Union

Minister for Employment, Productivity and Workplace Relations Agni Deo Singh has met with representatives of the newly registered Air Traffic Management Union to discuss union matters and strengthen engagement in the aviation sector.
The meeting allowed the union to present its objectives, concerns, and expectations following its recent registration, while Ministry officials provided guidance on key provisions under the Employment Relations Act 2007.
Discussions focused on union recognition, dispute resolution processes, and compliance requirements, with officials clarifying the rights and responsibilities of union members under existing law.
Mr Singh said unions play an important role in protecting workers’ rights while contributing to productivity and economic stability.
“The Ministry is committed to constructive dialogue and ensuring that all unions are well-informed and supported in carrying out their responsibilities effectively,” he said.
“It is essential that all parties operate within the framework of the law while maintaining open communication and mutual respect.”
The Minister also outlined key aspects of proposed employment legislation currently under consideration, aimed at strengthening worker protections and improving industrial relations processes.
The Air Traffic Management Union welcomed the engagement and acknowledged the guidance provided, reaffirming its commitment to working with Government to support its members and maintain safe and efficient air traffic services.
