The Ministry of Health and Medical Services, through its Nasinu Medical Sub-Division, today carried out an integrated medical outreach program for vulnerable groups at the Nadawa Methodist Church.
According to the Ministry, by 10 a.m., 50 people had already turned up to receive medical advice and services from healthcare professionals.
Nasinu Sub-Divisional Medical Officer (SDMO) Dr. Vini Madanavosa stated that the outreach was designed to provide a safe and supportive space for individuals who are often left out of mainstream health initiatives.
“We decided to have one outreach today specifically for them so they can have a safe space to seek advice from dieticians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals,” said Dr. Madanavosa.
The Ministry acknowledged the invaluable support of its partners, including the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), ADRA-Fiji, Fiji Disabled Peoples Association, Fiji Cancer Society, Reproductive and Family Health Association of Fiji (RFHAF), Sai Prema Foundation, and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
