Cakova Village, Moala, is collaborating to ensure equal access to healthcare for all Fijians.

The Ministry of Health and Medical Services recently conducted an extensive outreach program in the village. This initiative is part of the Ministry's broader commitment to providing proper health services to communities in Fiji’s maritime islands.

Medical Officer of Naroi, Dr. Fifita, led the outreach by coordinating the delivery of essential healthcare services to the community.

The team provided medical consultations, check-ups, and dental care services, prioritizing the village's health and well-being.

Additionally, a public health team from Lakeba joined the outreach to promote HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention.

The team provided crucial information on HIV/AIDS prevention, testing, and treatment, emphasizing the importance of reducing stigma and encouraging early diagnosis.

The goal of the visit was to bridge the healthcare gap for maritime communities. By delivering these services directly to villages like Cakova, people can address pressing health needs and empower themselves with the knowledge and resources to manage their health.

This program allowed villagers to address their health-related issues, receive preventative care guidance, and benefit from early detection and treatment of medical conditions.

The Ministry of Health and Medical Services remains dedicated to delivering healthcare services to maritime and remote communities as part of its mission to achieve universal health coverage across Fiji.

The team looks forward to visiting other villages in Moala.
