A mother of three from Nasaumatua, Daku, Tailevu, has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the government for providing financial assistance to support her children’s education.
Miriama Ravuniwa, who earns a living by going out to sea and selling her catch, said the $200 per child has made a big difference for her family.
“This support has eased the financial burden on us as parents,” Ms. Ravuniwa said. “It will help me prepare my children for school and ensure they have what they need for their education.”
Ms. Ravuniwa explained that managing the cost of school materials has always been challenging, especially with the rising cost of living. She believes this initiative will encourage more parents to prioritize their children’s education.
“I want to thank the government for thinking about families like mine. This assistance will not only help my children but also give me peace of mind knowing they are ready for school,” she added.
Ms. Ravuniwa emphasized the importance of such programs for rural communities and urged other parents to make the best use of the support for their children’s future.
The government’s initiative to provide financial assistance for students is part of its broader effort to ensure equitable access to education across the country.
Many families have welcomed this program, highlighting how it helps reduce the financial pressure of preparing for school.
For Ms. Ravuniwa and her children, this support is a step toward a brighter future. “Education is the key to a better life, and this help from the government has given us hope,” she said.
