Multiple Arrests for Illicit Drug Possession Across Fiji

Over the past 48 hours, several arrests have been made across Fiji for alleged unlawful possession of illicit drugs.
The arrests were recorded in various locations within the Southern Division, including Wailea Settlement in Vatuwaqa, Tamavua, and Narere.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu reported that a woman in her 20s and a man in his 30s were arrested at Wailea Settlement following the discovery of white substances believed to be methamphetamine.
In Tamavua, a man in his 30s was arrested after being found with dried leaves and a zip lock plastic containing seeds, all believed to be marijuana.
Another man in his 30s was arrested in Narere with several sachets of dried leaves suspected to be marijuana.
In Suva, officers focused their attention on the carrier stand, where a man in his 40s was arrested after the discovery of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.
In the Eastern Division, a man in his 50s was arrested in Korovou Town with several bullets of dried leaves suspected to be marijuana.
In the Northern Division, a man in his 20s was arrested with zip lock plastics containing white substances believed to be methamphetamine.
All seized substances have been sent for analysis as investigations continue.
