My Brother’s Life Is Not a Waste of Time, Singh Tells Saukuru
SPORTSFIJI NEWS

Fijian boxer Sebastian Singh has launched a scathing attack on Minister for Youth and Sports, Jese Saukuru, alleging him of disrespecting the death of his brother, who died following a recent boxing match.
In an emotional video posted online, Singh claims the Minister has declared the investigation into the death as complete, despite key individuals such as the promoter not being interviewed.
“How do you give a final report without investigations being completed?” Singh asked. “My brother stood in that ring and represented our nation… and investigating his death is a waste of time to you, Minister Saukuru?”
Singh went further, alleging that someone involved in the investigation told him the Minister had personally referred to it as a “waste of time.”
“This person has clearly shown his negligence for the people of our nation… These people are the real criminals. It’s not the people out there on the streets looking for a better life,” Singh said.
In the same video, Singh vowed not to be silenced, saying he would continue to fight for justice for his brother. “If you think my brother’s life was a waste of time, that shows your capability and how much education you actually have,” he said.
Singh warned the government that “if the truth doesn’t prevail within your government, I promise you if the government changes, the truth will prevail.”
The Ministry for Youth and Sports has yet to issue a formal response.
