Netanyahu Blames Albanese for Terror Attack
WORLD

Israel’s leader Benjamin Netanyahu has openly blamed Anthony Albanese for last week’s terror attack at Bondi Beach, a move that has placed Australia’s leadership under international scrutiny following one of the country’s deadliest extremist attacks in decades.
The attack, which occurred during a Jewish community gathering, left several people dead and many others injured. It has shocked Australians and raised serious concerns about extremist violence and the safety of minority communities.
In a strongly worded statement, Netanyahu accused the Australian government of allowing antisemitism to grow, claiming recent political decisions had emboldened extremists and undermined efforts to protect Jewish communities. He described the attack as the consequence of a broader failure to confront rising hatred.
Netanyahu said governments that fail to draw clear lines against extremism risk creating conditions where violence becomes inevitable, urging stronger action rather than what he described as symbolic or passive responses.
Albanese rejected the accusation, insisting there was no link between Australia’s policy positions and the actions of a violent extremist. However, his response focused largely on defending the government’s stance rather than addressing the substance of Netanyahu’s criticism.
The Bondi Beach attack has reignited debate over whether authorities have moved quickly enough to address extremist threats and rising social tensions. Investigators say the suspect was influenced by radical ideology, with inquiries ongoing.
