New Denarau Community Police Post Opens Through Business Partnership

A new Community Police Post has officially opened at Denarau following a joint effort between police and the local business community aimed at strengthening safety and security in the tourism hub.
The newly renovated and refurbished Denarau Community Post was opened on Tuesday, 10 February 2026. The facility was made possible through support from Denarau Corporation Limited, resort partners, and the Port Denarau business community.
Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu welcomed the partnership, saying collaboration between law enforcement and businesses plays an important role in improving public safety and economic confidence.
He said continued support from the private sector for policing initiatives helps strengthen security outcomes and contributes to broader national growth.
According to Commissioner Tudravu, improved safety and security in key tourism areas supports investor confidence and encourages development across the sector. He noted that recent major developments are a positive sign of trust in Fiji’s security environment.
He described the new post as a “win-win,” adding that enhanced policing presence at Denarau will benefit businesses, visitors, and the wider community.
Previously, officers from the Nadi Police Station were required to respond to incidents on Denarau Island. With the opening of the new post, Tourist Police officers will now be stationed directly at Denarau, allowing for faster response times and a more visible security presence.
