Fiji now has nine registered political parties following the approval of the NeXTGEN ALLIANCE PARTY (NGAP) by the Registrar of Political Parties.
The registration was confirmed by the Registrar of Political Parties, Ms Ana Mataiciwa, who approved the party's application under the Political Parties (Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures) Act 2013.
The approval means NGAP has officially met the legal requirements to operate as a registered political party in Fiji and can now participate in the country's political landscape.
The Registrar's Office said the registration was granted following the completion of the required assessment process in accordance with the law governing political parties.
With the addition of NGAP, Fiji now has a total of nine registered political parties.
The announcement marks the latest development in Fiji's political environment ahead of future electoral activities, with the new party joining the existing list of registered political organisations operating in the country.
