No Electricity Tariff Increase: FCCC
FIJI NEWS

Fijians will not see an increase in electricity tariffs for now after the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) announced it has deferred the implementation of a proposed electricity tariff review until July 31, 2026.
The decision means the current electricity tariff structure, which has remained in place since October 2019, will continue unchanged during this period.
FCCC said the move comes as households and businesses across Fiji continue managing cost pressures linked to ongoing geopolitical tensions and global fuel price volatility.
The Commission said it is also undertaking further assessment of a fuel surcharge application submitted by Energy Fiji Limited, while considering the wider economic impact on consumers, businesses, and the energy sector.
FCCC said the deferment reflects its commitment to protecting consumers while ensuring any future decision is fair, transparent, and based on careful assessment.
