"No Repeat Policy' - Says Hon Sitiveni Rabuka
FIJI NEWS

There are growing calls to end Fiji’s No Repeat Policy after over 6,000 Year 8 students failed their exams this year.
Many believe the policy is hurting students and making education standards worse.
Honrable Sitiveni Rabuka in a statement says that he does not agree with this Policy.
'I do not agree with the No Repeat Policy and will be discussing it with the Minister for Education, Hon. Aseri Radrodro' he says.
Rabuka also asked in his stement important questions in regards to the this matter.
“Do schools have enough space and resources to support students who fail, along with new students coming in? Are there enough classrooms, or is something else causing this problem?”
There are also concerns about how government grants are used.
Critics have questioned whether some schools are more focused on getting money from the government, based on the number of students enrolled, instead of ensuring students succeed.
Pm also states that should play a bigger role in monitoring and improving teaching quality since student results show how effective teaching is.
