One Nation Announces Plan to Deport 75,000 Illegal Immigrants and Slash Immigration Numbers
WORLD

On February 11, 2025, One Nation, led by Senator Pauline Hanson, unveiled a stringent new immigration policy aimed at deporting 75,000 illegal immigrants and significantly reducing overall immigration by 570,000 from current levels under the Labor government.
Senator Hanson emphasized the need to prioritize the interests of Australians, citing the housing crisis, rising inflation, and the strain on public services and infrastructure.
The policy outlines several key measures:
Immediate deportation of 75,000 illegal immigrants with no right to appeal, capping annual visas at 130,000, implementing an eight-year waiting period for immigrants before they can apply for citizenship or government welfare, reducing the number of foreign students and closing loopholes that allow study to be a pathway to permanent residency, reinstating temporary protection visas to deter boat arrivals, and refusing entry from countries known to foster extremist ideologies while withdrawing from the UN Refugee Convention.
Senator Hanson stated that these measures are necessary to address the challenges posed by record immigration levels and to ensure that the Australian government serves the interests of its citizens first.
