The People’s Alliance Party (PAP) has rejected recent comments by Opposition Leader Inia Seruiratu, who described the Coalition Government as being in “chaos,” saying the claims are misleading and politically motivated.

In a statement issued by General Secretary Sila Balawa, PAP said the Coalition Government continues to deliver results for the people of Fiji across key sectors, including health, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and economic development.

The party said the Opposition’s comments are aimed at creating fear and confusion ahead of the elections and do not reflect the reality of government operations. PAP maintained that Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is providing stable and accountable leadership, and that the coalition remains focused on progress and national wellbeing.

PAP also called on political leaders to act responsibly and focus on facts rather than what it described as election-driven attacks.

The response comes after Seruiratu, speaking on behalf of the Opposition, accused the Coalition Government of ongoing instability and internal contradiction.

He linked his criticism to the recent High Court ruling that found the dismissal of the former FICAC Commissioner unlawful, arguing that the Prime Minister’s public statements show confusion and raise serious accountability concerns.

Seruiratu also pointed to differing public explanations from government officials and the former Attorney-General over who was consulted in the decision, claiming this showed a pattern of poor coordination and leadership within the coalition.
