Former Permanent Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister, Pita Wise, has been nominated to serve as Fiji’s Ambassador to Japan, as confirmed by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka.
Wise’s nomination follows his application for a position with Fiji Missions Overseas.
His selection comes on the heels of his voluntary resignation from his role last month, which was prompted by an allegation of serious misconduct.
During his 20-month tenure with the Coalition Government, Wise also held the position of Permanent Secretary in the previous administration.
Despite the circumstances surrounding his departure, the Public Service Commission has acknowledged Wise's contributions to the government during his time in office.
